The 14allbio project (acronym InDeCS-H) was funded by the
European Commission's 6th Framework Programme and designed
to gather, analyze and distribute data about the
biotechnology industry in Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, the
Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta,
Poland, Romania, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, and Turkey.
The report covers over 260 companies in the 14 countries
and found that Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic lead
their peers in development of health biotechnology.
A development capacity index, based on quantitative as
well as qualitative factors, was created to facilitate
comparisons between countries and the full ranking has been
included in the report.
